Work Experience

IT Manager/Production Manager

September, 1995 – Present                                                                                     Heartland Advertising, Inc., Chicago, IL

·         Enabled Heartland to grow their business exponentially each year thus landing them on Inc.com’s 2007 “5000 Fastest Growing Privately Held Corporations in the USA” list by spearheading the long-term project of increasing the technological footprint from a single word processor to a Small Business Windows Server 2003

·         Implemented a FileMaker Pro Production Database, integrating every aspect of the company including each ad insertion, accounts payable/receivable, client and publication list; I created the logical database and an effective flowchart of how the physical database should work, then coordinated with a third-party consultant in the actual creation of the database

·         Served as the point-person for third-party database and server consultants; required effective communication of business needs as well as the ability to translate those needs into technical terms

·         Researched, evaluated and recommended the purchase of various new technologies such as a networked office multi-function printer, server and peripherals, desktops and notebooks

·         Trained and enabled the Production Department and Account Managers to integrate and work remotely to achieve weekly production and sales goals; I had to train most of the Account Managers in basic computing before I could even train them on the database and working remotely

·         Provided on-call requests for most computer and server issues at the location; coordinated with third-party Server Techs for more complex support issues

·         Supervised the Production Department to ensure that weekly production & billing goals were met
